WHO IS KIKI?:
“Kiki” is the family nickname of Kilsys Payamps-Roure, Kiki’s Corner™founder. The daughter of Dominican immigrants, Kilsys grew up in theInwood Heights neighborhood of New York City. In the Heights, thecorner block was where people gathered to talk, catch up, or just hangout and have a laugh. It was a place that was always welcoming. Likeher old neighborhood, at Kiki’s Corner™ anyone can come, feelcomfortable, and find themselves…. it’s a place where there issomething for everyone!

Kilsys graduated from The Frank G. Zarb School of Business, at HofstraUniversity, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She went on to build a career in the country’s top investment banks, and securities trading and brokerage firms, working in CorporateFinance and Accounting.

The idea for Kiki’s Corner™ was born in 2007 when Kilsys was lookingfor an invitation for her daughter’s 1st birthday party. She realizedthere was a void in the stationery industry for cards that reflectedthe diversity of families all over the world. After numerousconversations with other parents who shared the same frustrations andconcerns, she decided to leave corporate America and start Kiki’sCorner™. Growing up in NYC exposed Kilsys from an early age to thebeauty of diversity. She strongly believes that when children seeimages of themselves it fosters self-esteem; and once children havethis sense of self worth, a strong foundation is laid for them todream, aspire, and reach their goals. She wanted to help cement thisidea, even if in just her corner.

Kilsys daughter, Lucia, was the muse for the Kiki’s Corner™ girl’scharacter. In 2008, she was blessed with another muse when her son,Luc, was born. Lucia, (3 years) and Luc (7 months) continue to be thedriving force and inspiration in her life.
