Thank you for visiting our site. WHO IS KIKI?: “Kiki” is the family nickname of Kilsys Payamps-Roure, Kiki’s Corner™ founder. The daughter of Dominican immigrants, Kilsys grew up in the Inwood Heights neighborhood of New York City. In the Heights, the corner block was where people gathered to talk, catch up, or just hang out and have a laugh. It was a place that was always welcoming. Like her old neighborhood, at Kiki’s Corner™ anyone can come, feel comfortable, and find themselves…. it’s a place where there is something for everyone! Kilsys graduated from The Frank G. Zarb School of Business, at Hofstra University, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She went on to build a career in the country’s top investment banks, and securities trading and brokerage firms, working in Corporate Finance and Accounting. The idea for Kiki’s Corner™ was born in 2007 when Kilsys was looking for an invitation for her daughter’s 1st birthday party. She realized there was a void in the stationery industry for cards that reflected the diversity of families all over the world. After numerous conversations with other parents who shared the same frustrations and concerns, she decided to leave corporate America and start Kiki’s Corner™. Growing up in NYC exposed Kilsys from an early age to the beauty of diversity. She strongly believes that when children see images of themselves it fosters self-esteem; and once children have this sense of self worth, a strong foundation is laid for them to dream, aspire, and reach their goals. She wanted to help cement this idea, even if in just her corner. Kilsys daughter, Lucia, was the muse for the Kiki’s Corner™ girl’s character. In 2008, she was blessed with another muse when her son, Luc, was born. Lucia, (3 years) and Luc (7 months) continue to be the driving force and inspiration in her life.
