Somehow through the years, I’ve become the “game girl” at baby showers. By this I mean I’m usually the one organizing and doing the games. I think it’s partly due to the fact that since I have a large family and big circle of friends, I’ve attended so many baby showers. I don’t mind doing it though, having games is great for many reasons. They are good icebreakers, they make guests feel welcomed since you’re engaging with them directly, they help keep the pace and energy up at showers, and most importantly they are FUN! Don’t worry about giving away prizes that are costly and fancy. Guests enjoy participating in the games, so it’s about them having a good time and not about what they can win. Think out of the box when it comes to the prizes. A cute bag tied with ribbon and filled with cookies is perfect! You should also visit the local 99 cent store. They have lots of things that could be given as prizes like candles, mugs, hand and body lotions etc. Here are some baby shower games that are always hits: Baby Song: Divide your guests into groups of two or three. Each group has to name a song that has the word 'baby' in the title. If a group is unable to think of a 'baby' song they are eliminated from the game. The remaining groups have to perform their song. The team that has the best performance wins! Songs with “Baby” in the title: “Baby Love” - The Supremes “Always Be My Baby - Mariah Carey “Baby I Need Your Lovin” - Four Tops “I Got You Babe” - Sonny and Cher “Baby Got Back” - Sir Mix-a-lot “Baby” - Brandy “Hey Baby” - No Doubt “Be My Baby” - Ronnettes “Baby One More Time” - Britney Spears “Ice Ice Baby” - Vanilla Ice “Born To Be My Baby” - Bon Jovi “Rock A Bye Baby” The Fastest Sucker: For this game you will need baby bottles with nipples all the same size. Fill the bottles with the drink of choice (water, juice). The participant who sucks the drink the fastest out of the bottle wins! Baby Outburst: Divide your guests into groups of two or three. The host reads a category name, and the first team has 60 seconds to shout out as many answers as they can. The host then picks a different category for the 2nd/3rd /4th team, and they do the same. The team with the most correct answers wins!
