It’s always great to start the New Year off on a positive note! Strickly Chicks was created in that spirit. Strickly Chicks is a new blog site that was launched to showcase and promote women owned businesses. On all of our invitations and announcements, you will be able to select from 7 hair colors running the gamut from light blonde to the deepest black, and 7 skin tones ranging from very fair to dark.

Chances are that most of us today are leading very busy lives. We spend our days tackling our to-do-lists, and sometimes it seems as though we can’t make a dent on those lists! Amidst the mayhem, it’s easy to forget or not have the time to sit down and write out those Thank You cards for your child’s birthday, baptism, or your baby shower. Friends and family take out the time to be a part of our special events though, so it’s important that we make the time to express our gratitude. Although hand written thank you notes are always a special treat to receive, I think nowadays people understand life’s hectic pace and appreciate other forms of thank you.

I once read that when you have children your every move and word is recorded. Kids are sponges, and although we may not realize it, they are paying attention to everything we say and do. When you stop to think about it, the scope of influence we have on our children is daunting! Factor in our busy lifestyles and it can be hard to reach a balance between what we should be doing and what we are doing.

Somehow through the years, I’ve become the “game girl” at baby showers. By this I mean I’m usually the one organizing and doing the games. I think it’s partly due to the fact that since I have a large family and big circle of friends, I’ve attended so many baby showers. I don’t mind doing it though, having games is great for many reasons. They are good icebreakers, they make guests feel welcomed since you’re engaging with them directly, they help keep the pace and energy up at showers, and most importantly they are FUN!
