We recently attended a birthday party for my daughter's friend. Amidall the activities, I took a real look at the "landscape" and a hugesmile came across my face. What a beautiful site, it looked like a miniversion of the United Nations! There were Indian, Caucasian, Latino,Asian, African American, and biracial children playing happilytogether. It was a true melting pot. What was more impressive about thescene though, was the interactions amongst the parents. Although we allhailed from different ethnic backgrounds, race was not an issue and thediversity of the group was welcomed and embraced. No one felt like theodd man out or was made to feel uncomfortable because of his or herculture. The common thread binding us was our children and our love forthem.
